Welcome to KD Farms Gypsy Vanner Horses!  Our farms are family owned with two locations in Ohio.  KD Farm North is located in Belle Center, OH, and is owned by Steve and Kelly Searson. KD Farm South is located in Pleasant Plain, OH, and is owned by Patrick and Dana Kilgore.

The Gypsy Vanner Horse originated in the United Kingdom where a select group of Gypsy people have dedicated their life's passion to creating the perfect horse to fit their wandering and colorful lifestyle.  This horse is now known as the Gypsy Vanner Horse.

It is likely that the Gypsy Vanner Horse was developed through careful crossing of breeds, all feathered.  These breeds include the Clydesdale, Shire, and the native ponies of the UK.  Through this combination of breeds, the ultimate caravan  horse was developed.  These horses are smaller in stature (average of 14.2 hh), extremely calm, willing to work, versatile, and possess an abundance of hair and feather. Their presence  requires passers-by to take notice.

Please visit our site and enjoy the horses we have come to love and enjoy.
